ABOUT US
The Compass Bar is situated on the spectacular Currane Peninsula, the gateway to Achill Island on the northern shores of Clew Bay. The Compass has been open since 1974, but there was a pub on the site as far back as the early 1950s. It is owned and managed by the Gallagher family.

Renowned for its fine Guinness, the bar has plenty of local characters and the craic is always good!
Why not try your hand on one of the two pool tables or throw a few darts.

Almost all major sporting events are covered on the big and small screens, where the atmosphere is always electric - especially for the 6 Nations Rugby!
You never know when a sing song or session might break out, and on busy Bank Holiday weekends we sometimes have live music.
Drop in and see us !

You never know what might be going on ! !
Although this site is mainly the Compass Bar website, we are developing it as a website for the Currane people and the Currane area. If you feel that there is anything that should be added to the site please feel free to contact us using the contact page or you can leave a comment.
